B.A. Applied Science (Agriculture & Forestry) Massey University
Aaron Baker's farming background led him to a degree in Agriculture. But discovering he could cross credit his papers into Forestry - he went for a double major and wider horizons.
Socially and professionally, he says, the degree offers a chance to develop a really good network. (But get that social life and study life balance right to succeed, he warns!)
Northlander Aaron found the mix of on campus and extra-mural courses very convenient - otherwise he'd have had to move to the South Island for his degree.
University level forestry papers give you the chance to go very deeply into background theory, he says, but always relate to future applications. Aaron's aiming for a career in Forest Management or the Service Sector, possibly Consultancy. He finished school in 1996, took a year off working in various jobs and then decided it was "time to organise his future". With his double degree from Massey - he's well on his way.
