Forestry Production and Thinning / Technical Services Co-ordinator

"Nowadays it can be quite hard to get a career," says Delila Messent, who every day co-ordinates the work of 18 forestry production and thinning crews, "so a few letters after your name can make it easier."

The other part of her career is liaising with customers as technical services co-ordinator. Delila hails from Murapara, on the edge of the Urewera National Park, and her Bachelor of Science and Technology degree has qualified her for a varied and interesting career. Most weeks she spends two days in the bush and the other three in the office - so she gets the best of both worlds.
